How Austin, Texas Ranks!

Austin, Texas receives its share of honors on a regular basis.  Here’s a listing of many of their “Best of” designations.

Austin Ranked #1 as Best Place to be a Young Adult, Young in the City, by Portfolio.com, 3/15/10.

Forbes.com in a 3/2/10 article lists Austin, Texas as tied for No. 1 on their list of “10 Cities Best Surviving the Recession”. Government spending has helped Austin as well, Forbes notes with .98% job growth reported between December 2007 and December 2009 – more than any other city in Forbes analysis. Their job growth projections anticipate an increase of 8.09% in the next 3 years.

U.S. News and World Report, June 9, 2009 notes Austin, Texas as one of the best places to live because of its strong economy, low living costs and plenty of fun things to do.

Forbes magazine 8/4/09 article using criteria such as jobs, cost of living, health care, education, crime and public parks ranks Austin as #2 on their list of great places for working moms. The top ten are listed below.
