Laredo Oil has moved its corporate headquarters to Austin, officials announced Wednesday.  The company attributed the move to a need to be closer to technology talent and “the heart of the oil patch.” A spokesman said the business is still searching for office space.  Laredo Oil moves headquarters to Austin 8/6/10 10:52 AM|blongoria@impactnews.com (Bobby Longoria)

Completed Office Construction in Q2, 2010 included two office buildings totaling 22,760 SF.  This compares to one building totaling 8,000 square feet completed in the first quarter 2010, no office SF completed in the fourth quarter 2009, and 413,342 SF completed in the third quarter 2009.  There was 66,277 SF of office space under construction at the end of the second quarter 2010.  Austin Q2 Office Construction By CoStar Research August 5, 2010

Apple Leases 55,000 square feet at Vista Ridge 2, whiich is near Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360) and Lost Creek Boulevard. Data Foundry broke ground on Tuesday on their 250,000-square-foot secure facility for servers and networking equipment on a 40-acre site off Burleson Road in SE Austin.   According to a news release, the facility will be the only carrier-neutral data center in Central Texas built specifically for that purpose.  The facility is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2011.  Data Foundry Inc.’s $150 million Greenfield data center |AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF | Published: 8:01 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010

Houston investors purchase six office buildings in South Austin.  The investment group is led by Houston-based Braun Enterprises.  The buildings total 154,000-sf space and are located at 706 Ben White Blvd. and 4005 and 4009 Banister Ln. According to the Austin Business Journal, this is the largest deal of its kind in Austin this year.
